A few larfs on Chesil Beach (Abbotsbury)
Decided on a day out on the Chesil Single with me mate Phil, now I'm carrying a few extra pound but He's king of the "scoff" so my idea of a 30 minute walk to Ferrybridge fell on deaf ears so it was drive to our spot
at abbotsbury and drop off 2 tonne of kit and I then have a 20 minute walk from the car park.......
anyway I soon had the kitchen set up and breakky was on the way.......
we both enjoyed our light snack to see us through what was a beautiful morning ..........Eggs ,Bacon,Black Pudding,Sausages and beans
mid morning I'm sure I could hear zzzzzzzzzz as the brekky kicked in
and phil was chilling out in his camp.............
Deployed 2 rods with Ragworm and a pop up rod down the edge.....soon had the 1st of the day as some early Whiting arrived........
followed by some scad ................
these boys were more fun on the frail tackle as each one fought like a demon racing up and down the shore line.......
lunch time arrived and the latest pair of Mackeral were skinned and sliced and in the hot oil sizzling away and ready in 5 mins.......
Fillet of super fresh mackeral, quick fried with salt and pepper on a roll.....
Hit the spot on the beach from sea to stomache in 10 mins.........
the fishing was ok ish....the odd Bream to 1/2 lb grabbed the ragworm baits
over low water ...........
and I had a few of these bad boys up to 1 lb ....Red Gurnards.
Darkness fell and the fresh mackerel baits and sandeel baits went out for the Rays but alas none arrived.....so the rag baits only produced
Pout ...this one getting munched on but the cuttle let go at the waters edge,
Anyway no big fish to report from our day but a few small fish kept us entertained and fed......plus Phil caught and played a plastic bag
all the way to the shoreline.....larf....not much !!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant fun day out with plenty of laughs on chesil shingle bank...!!!!!

Only you could turn a days fishing into a gourmet meal outing Gazza
