A ray of sunshine on the Mersey!!!! 12/06

Conditions looked good today with a small tide & overcast although the currant bun made an appearance late in the session.

Baits in as the flood started, nothing till 2 & half hours in when the 7ft LRF down the wall with size 8 hooks on showed the 14ft contis up with a 26cm flounder

Then 75 mins before high the thornies came on the feed

Baited the rig & another one on the next cast, the blood is mine, made the mistake of trying to get the bait out of it's mouth

Kathy has had a string of blanks recently but put that behind her with a 36cm dover

Not long after I had my 3rd thorny

High came & we started winding down an hour after high, last rod in was heading out to the Irish sea & as I wound in it felt heavy, the 4th thorny of the day with a doggie on the other hook

A good session after a few lean ones with the biggest thorny coming in at 3lb 15oz
