advice will help
recently took up bait fishing after years of bashing the mackeral.... And I like it. The trouble is I'm using my macky gear which is 13ft abu stigma and the abu 7000 after a weekend of windy bait fishing off marks in South Shields I have found the stigma is just not what I should be using due to how tip happy it is. Even the slightest wind puts it into a bit of bend frenzy.... I am looking to upgrade my rod to something half decent to around the £150 range. After hearing century, zziplex, conoflex I thought great they seem to be quite popular then I seen the price and was a little gob smacked. Can anyone advise me on a decent 1st starter rod I should be looking at.
Thanks

Re: advice will help
Once again, I will suggest the Penn rampage
it is great for the money
might be looked at like a beginners rod
It's a cracking piece of kit IMO.

Re: advice will help
Thanks lads useful info... My cousin uses the rampage as his 1st rod choice... He seems to like it but really has no idea as it's his 1st so has no preference. I was looking at the rt axxelorator or the diawa sandstorm For rough ground. Wondering if either of these would be a good start... I currently cast a 6oz off the abu stigma and thinking coupled with the rt could be happy days.. But my knowledge is limited. What do you think
Thanks again

@Grumpypopps... Just checked out the afaw and they seem to be a good rod for what I need and my experience and fall right into my price range. The 6wbait. as a starter may be a very good choice. Thanks

Re: advice will help
up here on the northeast coast the rt axe is a very well respected rod.
it will perform as good as most of the £400 rods from the top stables.
only around £100 new you will get them second hand for as low as £50.
the axe will allow you to fish anywhere aswell but be over gunned for cleaner marks.
