Anglesey for a week

Postby steve1 » 12 Aug 2012, 14:39

Went to Anglesey for a weeks holiday with Janet , Al and his wife. Took the kayaks. Heavy rain storms, lasting about 15 mins, on first night, but after that every day was glorious.
Stayed near Four Mile Bridge. First days fishing was from Porth Dafarch.
Met up with Graham, who had previously been fishing. Told us fishing has been very slow, as we found out for ourselves, over the next 3 days. Caught some Mackerel. But very little else.
Was talking to some boat owners, who had been 1 1/2 miles out, they were only getting mackerel, pin whiting, small thornys and pollock. Nothing of any size at all.
Me and Al paddled from 4 mile bridge, down the estuary to sausage island. Nice trip...we did a bit of fishing coming back on the tide (easier that way).
Have attached a few pics of the week.

Stunning report Steve  it looked like you had a great trip :thumb:

I stopped a Trearddur a couple of years back fantastic spot with brilliant wrasse fishing right off the front of the campsite. I kept driving over Four Mile bridge and that inland sea really intrigued me ??? does anyone actually fish in it? I'm positive it would hold bass, mullet and flatties......I definitely want to give it a try some time with the lures :fish: Silver bay looked great to, where the outlet met the sea, shame it's a private beach

Great report and thanks for sharing :gp:
Make a difference - take home one piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing
