BBAC launch of 'Free Spirit '
What a cracking day to be afloat! Fished up north from cable scar right down south to the mouth of the Ribble. Plenty of fish - dab, plaice, whiting, lsd, bullhuss, tope, codling. Failed to find smooth hound or bass but spent a bit of time cruising about plotting depths and contours. Re accustomed ourselves with the channel free river delta! Sorry no pics of fish but definately some sunburn

Hi, what's it like down at the Ribble? How do you fish that area from the boat? I've only ever launched from Knott End.
I've just joined BBAC.
Cheers.

You can launch from Church Scar opposite Seafield Rd, Lytham, BUT the river is a dangerous place - strong tides and currents, a training wall that has got numerous breaks in it and a channel mouth that has silted up dramatically since they stopped dredging. If you are looking for easy access then this is not it! So we stick to launching off Starr Gate. Fishing wise its known for sole, flounders and a few bass. See you down the club soon
