Kyle you must have a lot more patience than me! I looked into thread art a good few years ago when I was given a book on the subject by Shakespeare consultant Steve Parton. Being a bit all thumbs, I soon gave up especially as none of the game or carp boys I build for ever enquired about it. FYI I know a builder who charges a minimum of £40 an inch for 'decorative wrapping', more for complicated multi chevrons and weaves. Keep up the good work and give me a shout if you ever need Bullard D2 - I have gallons of the stuff. Ali

Liphook how do u rate the d2 ?? As rodsmith and flexi coat cost silly money for 8oz

but I found the cheaper stuff eg prorod and u40 nasty to work with

I love your Betty Boop Kyle. REALLY COOL

Keep up the good work matey :thumb:

BB 8-)

PS I don't think the ABU one is bad at all I think you are trying to hard. Anyone asking you for an ABU 464 weave would be very happy with that result. It doesn't do any harm to be in search of perfection but have a look at other people's work and I think you will see that not everyone who does this kind of work are as fussy as you. If people are paying big bucks, fair play, go over board and do something special but for people paying ordinary rates that level of workmanship is more than adequate.
