Blue Mink 6/2/15
Went out on the blue mink today, I think the name of the first drop was (shale wharf?) anyway stayed there for an hour whilst waiting for the flood and I managed 2 codling, with another lad on board collecting 1.
Then went round to rossall joining plenty of other boats and picked up a solitary codling and a couple of pin y-ting before moving off to the 2nd yellow post by chatsworth pipe where the fishing improved dramatically. We left this mark heading back in with 19 codling between us, all well within size, fed the local seal a few as well who decided to join us for the day. Cheeky sod even pinched two that were getting reeled in and ended up taking one anglers rig for a run over 100 yards.
Of note all fish were caught on worm mixture of frozen/fresh black and blow lug. Two of the codling when landed spat out what the skipper informed us were butterfish? Personally I ain't ever heard of them and looked remarkably like sand eels. After gutting them the majority had a mixture of the butterfish things and small pink/white crabs. Hope this helps.

No problem, would of come away with more had it not been for the pesky seal...... In all honesty quite a few bites were missed too.

Great report, we once had a seal jump into the engine well, it was only a small one but it took some moving, by the way its Shell wharf, usually fishes well on the ebb.

Nice report, love the seal pics, great fun to dive with.
We had one at 5 barred gate the other week when we all blanked, understandable in shallow waters I suppose.
Padsta chomping on the rod ends, get me outta here.
