Blue Mink Fleetwood April 2014 MSA
Blue Mink Fleetwood April 2014 A Plaice for Huss
Milnrow sea anglers fished their second Fleetwood trip of the year with Andy Bradbury aboard Blue Mink 8 members PW SW RG MB DL AJ DP and JF made the trip with a 10:00 o’clock sail it was a change to get a lie in. We sailed round to fish off Cleveleys as the weather was again against us to fish in the bay.
A few of the lads manage some small Codling but as usual the Dogfish were waiting along with the Dabs and Whiting a stray Pouting made an appearance before I had what I thought was a better fish bent my rod. But my hopes were in vain and I soon had 3 dogfish on the surface.
Andy Jackson had a rod rattler and reeled in a small Starry Smoothhound around the 3 pound mark, our first of the year it was soon on its way back.

We were fishing in a south westerly swell and it was a little uncomfortable side on but the fish were plentiful, as the tide eased a few Bullhuss started to make an appearance

We made a move out for a bit deeper water and as the tide eased we came around on the anchor and the fishing was a bit more comfortable, it was however more of the same with Dog, Dabs, Whiting and Huss. Some of the Whiting were a Good size if a little on the thin size.
Andy offered to let us try in the river on the way in for a few flatties so we agreed and sailed back around to the river for the last half hour, we anchored and gave it a go but apart from RG on the back who sneaked in a flounder and a Plaice on consecutive drops and MB also on the back who managed a Plaice it was not to be for the rest of us and we made the short move back in to disembark
Another good day as far as fish numbers and hopefully on our next trip with Andy the weather gods will play ball, cheers Andy for looking after us and keeping the brews flowing.
