Lived on the island now for over thirty years. Let me explain. If a spot becomes popular with visitors the authorities here gleefully slap a tarif on it. When people turn up and refuse to pay and line the roads with parked cars causing traffic problems the clipboard men stand there scratching their heads wondering what went wrong (DUH!). Happens all over Anglesey and most of North Wales. It's as if they don't want visitors to come and stay. If the numbers ARE down they are wringing their hands, then frantically sending out posts to the world to come and visit (DUH)! You have to live here to understand their mentality (or lack of it).
