Myself and Paul launched early doors at 5 bar gate, there were already 3 chaps getting ready to launch with at least another 3 kayaks in the distance. The weather was glorious....

We were targeting smoothhounds and had a bucket of fresh(ish) crab, with some frozen mackerel in case any tope were around

We were into fish straight away on the flood...

a small hound for Paul

slightly better one for me

The fishing wasn't spectacular, but they came in a steady stream getting bigger in size. They put up a terrific scrap, it was a struggle to get a decent picture!

There were plenty of boats out too, Billy Bennett & Wendy came over for a chat...

and Jamie...

A cracking day afloat, plenty of hounds for me and Paul with 15 or 16 each up to double figures and a small tope apiece with the usual dogfish, dabs & whiting too :thumb:

Great report :gp: That's where you've gotta be at the moment to get a hold of the fish. A lot of lads will be wondering how much a kayak set up is ???
