:D nine of us ventured from the wirral to fish connahs quay 17/02/2013 from 14.30 till 18.30 very quiet but one of us did catch a "sea trout" a lovely fish went back only small but a nice looking fish a very comfortable venue and a nice day will be going back when possible anybody any tips the best time to go what tide bait etc thanks Tom :thumb:

Sounds like a slow session Tommy, but I bet with 9 of you fishing the company and banter was good :thumb:

Connah's quay is mainly a flounder venue with occasional whiting in winter & plaice in summer and, as you discovered, an odd bonus seatrout. Lugworm baits tipped with mackerel would be my bait of choice, though you could try creeper/maddies/harbour rag or even garden worms. With it being the river/estuary I'd choose a neap tide to avoid any fierce tide run in the channel. If it's anything like the Lune, I would imagine the flood being the prime time :thumb:
