Re: connahs quay
Sounds like a slow session Tommy, but I bet with 9 of you fishing the company and banter was good
Connah's quay is mainly a flounder venue with occasional whiting in winter & plaice in summer and, as you discovered, an odd bonus seatrout. Lugworm baits tipped with mackerel would be my bait of choice, though you could try creeper/maddies/harbour rag or even garden worms. With it being the river/estuary I'd choose a neap tide to avoid any fierce tide run in the channel. If it's anything like the Lune, I would imagine the flood being the prime time
cheers for the report

Make a difference - take home one piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing
