Couple o days on Angelsey
MyWay & TyCroes 25th & 26th September 2017
Having had our club trip cancelled due to poor weather I was hoping that the drop in wind would arrive and Gethyn would be ringing me Saturday to say we were on for my 3rd time lucky of trying to get out looking for porgies.
It was a nice steady start on the Monday morning and we were on our way out in the mist to try find a porgie or 2.
Despite all our best efforts we only managed 2 good hook ups and 2 nice tope. It wasn’t my turn on the rod so I cannot be blamed for any dropped fish. I did however manage a small tope. I had an excellent day afloat despite us not hooking any porgies up. If ever you fancy a day afloat out of Holyhead you won’t go far wrong in booking with Gethyn

I had decided to treat myself to a B&B Monday night so once we had landed @ 2100hrs I headed for a beer n a bit of kip.
Tuesday was to be a few hours fishing off TyCroes. I didn’t really have any target specifically I just fancied wetting a line. I was in the rock and fishing for 1000rs, with High water @ 1400hrs my plan was fish til then and head home.
The dogs were soon showing and kept me busy.
I was fishing 2 rods 1 with huge baits and 1 with a blood loop scratcher on.
I was kept busy with dogs on both rods and a few pollack around the lb mark.
I had plenty of both but couldn’t tempt anything else. Well that was until this beauty turned up
There were a couple of whiting thrown in that were left on a stiffy rig as live bait but I still couldn’t find anything else other than dogs, pollack n whiting.
There were a couple other lad fishing around the corner from me & there had been there all night for the same as I had except they had no lobster lol.
High tide arrived so I took myself off for a nibble n to wait until after rush hour before I set off back. While I was sat chilling in the Forrest this little guy came to sat hello. So it was a quick dash back to the car and a quick photo shoot. The first I've managed to capture on camera.
I also had a wonder out after dark down South stack the night before.
Here’s a wee video of both days

It’s only his 1st year of really going for it, he’s laid out a lot of £’s so far on gear n it’s only a matter of time before he strikes. he lost a huge 1 to a snapped rod last time. We were only about 7 miles off.
