crinan , 16/11/14 - anything that swims
16/11/14
Crinan - OYM2
Weather : bloody great for Nov
I had txt from Neil g a angler i usually fish with if i wanted to try for a skate , so i decided to go short notice but i did as my wife.
So sat evening he turned up in a wedding suit , he was best man what a guy .
Sun morning a bitty nippy a great brekkie , headed to meet boat met up with wullie who was coming along as well.
We baited up with all sorts of bait , i emptied a lot from my freezer . nods started to come quick .
i was 1st in with a conger o ye , well chuffed i did not care if i never caught anything else .
there was a few dropped runs from the congers , plenty of wee fish nibbling at baits .
then my rod went skate on , and this one did not want to move from the bottom , finally i got it off winding in , always gaining now came to the boat without diving back down which was a relief , on board 174lb i think with a irish tag in it . a quick pic back it went .
Still the rods were nodding i think we dropped one while i was hooked up. Neil managed a huss which made it 3 species for the boat , slow day but we fished big baits all day .
So a big thank you for Neil for getting back out and Mattie for a great day out .
Last but not least Frankie bud the skate was for you , i did ask for a bit o help .
