Cymyran Bay Sat Night
After a 5 hour drive back from a break in Pembrokeshire i thought it would be a good idea to nip back to the island to see if any small eyed rays had turned up.On arrival the moderate breeze looked like it had put a touch too much life in the water, but you don`t know til you try. After a quiet couple of hours on the early flood,a mr & mrs combo fishing to my left landed a nice small eyed @4lb so hopes were raised...shortly after i took a hungry little turbot.. Then after 30 mins landed a small eyed of 3-5-8...
Followed shortly by a silver...
The Mrs then took another slightly bigger ray before getting off...i stayed until 1am when the sky turned black,so i thought it best to do one before getting a soaking, and reeled in a pesky dog.The breeze had actually got stronger for the best period of the tide imho, being the couple before high, which was disappointing as i`m sure more rays would have been feeding in a calmer sea. Well worth another session in the next week or two.
