Evening session 16-7-13
With the weather being so kind I thought it would be rude not to take advantage so, met up with Al at Anchorsholme at 5:30, quickly got the gear together and off wr padded towards the green buoy again.
We anchored up and lowered our carefully presented crab baits in anticipation of another hound onslaught.
Al was first in with a fish around 6lb. We stayed another half hour or so but not much was happening so we decided a move was in order.
We paddled out to around 1 mile offshore where the fishfinder showed a notable drop off.
It wasn't long before we were into the fish. I noticed on the sounder there were shoals of bait fish passing by quite often so, I set up some feathers in the hope they were mackerel. It didn't take long for my hopes to be proved right and I reeled in a full string although 3 came off as I was lifting them into the yak so, I ended up with 1 lol.
I persevered with the feathers while al was playing hound after hound.
We paddled back in around 10 just as the sun was setting. Another thoroughly enjoyable trip.
Final figures were Al - 8 hounds
Me - 4 hounds, 2 tope and 7 mackerel
sent from my tackle tart phone!
