Finally back on a Dorset Beach

and so after 10 weeks away from the sands I finally got me chance for a 8 till midnight session
fished the zigzag at southbourne as nobody was about ....

trouble was that the last 48 hour blow had left plenty of weed in the water and my 3rd cast on my scratching rod saw a clump take out the liner in the top eye on the rod ....dammit so I had to carry on with line from the 2nd eye......a few tangles but no choice really.

2 sandeel and bluey baits on the cobras completed my tackle.

first knock on a size 4,s and macky and its my 1st Tub Gurnard of the season not in the best of condition
but pleased to have it none the less.......

30 mins later and I'm getting a crackin rattle on my make shift scratching rod and this is better
turns out its also another 1st for the season it being a 1lb 2oz Turbot on macky bait.

the sandeels rods never got one touch all night apart from bloody great lumps of weed so I spent time clearing the washing line from the mono as soon as it appeared as I didn't want to break any more top eyes....

a few pout was all I had on ragworm meant for a sole so ill be back for another go once I've got the rod repaired.

ok so apart from the tackle malfunction I had 2 new species to add to this seasons tally after 10 weeks of not getting on the beach.........

so happy camper all in all.
