First Boat Trip.
Looked at the forecast for today and it seemed a little breezy this afternoon but hopefully the boat would be back on it’s moorings before it got uncomfortable, took my little mate today Ciy his first time fishing in a boat we walked out from Thornton Road with a gentle breeze in our faces and waited for the boat to float It wasn’t long before we headed to a sand bank about a mile offshore so far so good, anchor overboard and My first fish was a decent size Whiting for September, all of a sudden Ciy was struggling with a fish on pulling against a 9 metre tide but his first fish so I left him to it with some gentle encouragement. After what seemed an age a nice Thornback broke the surface this was a PB he then had a slightly smaller one not long after.i only managed a couple of middle range plaice, Cyi then had a tope pup so we all sang baby shark The wind eventually freshen and it was getting uncomfortable for my little mate so headed for the shelter of the moorings where we had a couple more plaice.
Footnote I had to hold his Thornback for a photo he wasn’t to eager to hold it himself.
