five bar gate 05/03 first plaice of the year
well mist lifted so headed of to five bar gate for a quick session found a chap called pete was already rigging up so i joined him out on the water set my anchor started to fish then realised i was drifting so wound up paddled back a set again lol kept getting knocks but nowt on that rod then the other twicthed and then went over with a right thump so i grabbed it and reeled in thinking id got a bigun to find a little plaice on it was still chuffed

All good stuff Chris, you might not be catching loads but you're getting plenty of experience on the yak and added watercraft it'll stand you in good stead when the smoothounds arrive, trust me you won't believe the scrap they put up!

Good to read about your rowing race and how you came in first Plaice...!!!! Oh to be a lot younger and to have had a crack at that .... Looks like a lot of fun ( and hard work ??)

can't wait for the warmer weather to get here and get scrapping with these fish really enjoy getting out on the yak still got some bits to add to it but getting there slowly
