Flounder/Plaice on Lures

Postby benhben » 09 Feb 2022, 09:52

I'm planning to have a go for flatties on lures this summer. Probably at some low tide marks around Arnside and Silverdale. I do a lot of perch lure fishing so I'm sure these lures will be perfect.

Whats the best time for flounder and plaice? Are they a summer species or all year round?

Thanks

You''ll get the odd flounder all year but they go out to spawn in February & when they come back are a bit thin, but the best time is later in the year, I've never used lures for them but have herd that they do take them, I use 2 or 3 hook flappers with size 4,2 or 1 hooks baited with lug or rag tipped with mackerel :thumb:
