Gynn Night Marathon.. <º))))><
Due to the promenade and the lower walk being closed for a 10K run on sunday. We, Paul, Mark and myself decided to use our bait the night previous. Charged my lamps up, sorted the bait out and was down there before dark..

I set up the usual flapper rigs, with my trusty size 4 Sakumas, baited up with a mix of Swimmers, Ragworm and Squid. Cast out in to a fairly flat sea. I had to wait until it was just about dark. Got my first bite and an early surprise Tope..

Another surprise, first Dover Sole of the year..

Then a Dogfish next, which had us thinking we might get plagued by them..

Next bite had my rods and rest trying to head over the wall!..

The Starry Smoothound are in. Yet another species had me heading to the steps..Thornback 6Lb 6oz..

5 species in as many casts. Then the missed bites started, definitely Smoothound, Grab and run!. We lost some on the way in and others at the steps. But they were sure hungry.
Though the odd one didn't escape..

Dogs were still about..

Starrys too..

High water came too soon. at least the Hounds were still on the go..

The ebb seemed to quiet down the fish..

A couple of Dogs saved the next hour..

And that was us. Time to head home, enjoyed the session and burned plenty of calories, going up and down the steps, catch and release.
