Hambleton fishery
Arranged to meet a friend on a new fishery to me, Steve had fished it before but not in the last two years. Hambleton fishery is located on the back road to Blackpool from Lancaster just before Shard bridge, been past many times but did not know it existed.
As our resident weather man forecast it was going to rain and rain it did, set off before 8am and made good time when we got there it only had 1 other angler in the water and Steve commented on that being the best peg as he remembered, never mind we picked our pegs and got set up. I sat the rain out for an hour so it was after 9.30 when I started to drown the maggots. If it wasn't for my shelter I don't think i would of been so eager to fish today, mind you it was very warm so I ended up sitting uner the shelter in a tee shirt but after lunch the sun came out and we had a good afternoon, worth waiting for.

Picture of 1 0f the 4 fish-able waters.

Who said it was going to rain.

Plenty of skimmers roach and bream but no keepnets allowed so you put back after unhooking, I was after the hard fighting Barbel and it took a while for this to take the pellet bait

About 4-5lb and a great scrap carried on getting the silvers then near the end of the day I had another good take and this one came to the bank

no Carp today but after packing up and having a walk round found out the 1st pond on the way in has bigger fish in it and the one at the back nearer the big house has most of the carp, one caught while we walked round at the end of the day.
Fished on the tip with cage feeder most of the time and a Guru pellet feeder worm pellet and meat took the prey today.

Nice report mate...
Only ever fished there once, years back, think it was one of the first places to stock Chub and Barbel in a still water.... certainly around here anyhow...
