Make a difference - take home one piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing

Ok,,arrived at the river(trent) on sunday afternoon to find one of the best pegs on the stretch was free,,,(first time since i started going down there two years ago). The peg in question is just downstream from a sunken barge..
Now although this is an excellent fish holding feature,it also tackle hungry and as barbel are a very powerful fish you have to be very quick to get them away from the snags..This barge is a graveyard for the end tackle of anglers who weren't quick enough or fished undergunned.Upstream of the barge is even worse as the fish have the help of the downstream current to assist them home
:fish:
Oh bollocks to it,,,i've just decided a lengthy report is far too time consuming so i will cut to the chase,in three nights(yes 3 nights)i had a total of 11 barbel(mostly betwwen 6 and 8lb,biggest pictured@11lb 8oz)1 chub and 1 bream.I also used the very skillful method of longtrotting using a stickfloat and centrepin reel to catch a few small roach, perch and gudgeon. Also after observing a pike striking in my swim i decided to try and coax one of them out of the depths by attaching a live gudgeon to a size ten barbel hook offered under a chubber float.First cast(well, flick)and the float was away resulting in a lovely conditioned esox of about 8lb
:fishing:
So there you have it a little report with a little bit of blowing up my own arse for good measure..xx
