kayak fishing 5 bargate
Arrived at 5 bar gate at 9 am with my mate Al. Met up with Graham, who was already their, launched about 10. 30. We paddled about half a mile out.Fishing was a bit slow to start with. Graham was first in with a doggy, then AL( doggy and dab). We were all catching small Tope. Al had a Nice spotty, me a Nice Thornie. That's how the day went with plenty of fish .It was Al's first time out at sea. We'd previously done self rescue and assisted rescue. Glad we did. as AL took an early bath, all was okay as me and graham went to his aid and he got back on safely with no problems. (apart from his bag and cap floating off.....Graham was quick to rescue them) Ha Ha!!! ;D
Here are some photos of the day.

Great day and good company.

Excellent report Steve, that sea looks a little lumpier than I would have thought, there wasn't a breath of wind Saturday morning in Lancaster it's always different in your back garden!
It just goes to show the importance of practising self rescue too good advice
Thanks for the report

Make a difference - take home one piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing
