Lancaster Canal

Can anyone reccomend any areas of the Lancaster Canal where coarse fish shoal up over winter.

The reason I ask is that I'm really into ultralight lure fishing for Perch, having trouble locating them over winter though. Hopefully locating baitfish will find the predators.

Have you tried up at Tewitfield locks??? Had some great pike sessions up there in the past and there always seems to be plenty of roach around there... ??? ???

Best place on all of Lancaster canal at the moment has to be to the left of the beaumont to Halton bridge ,british waterways are draining aquaduct for repairs and have placed a solid mesh net across just to the left of bridge. Stopped there to have a nosey at around 7`0 clock this morn and was amazed by the huge shoals of roach balled up next to net, must have been easily over 500 silvers , saw quite a bit of surface boils too, so all them predators will be feasting all day long, deffo worth a chuck or two :fishing:
