Late report, Quick trip

Postby Paul » 25 Mar 2015, 21:58

Had a quick blast out last Sunday, just for a couple of hours either side of high water. Fished just one rod each, just a mile or so from the slipway.

With the massive tide (10.5m) the run at first was horrendous! But was soon fishable as we approached high water.

I managed a couple of codling, one pretty small another maybe 2lb. Missed a few other bites, all fishing uptide.

My mate Richard on the other hand, struggled, and although he was getting the bites couldn't connect. He dropped two half way up too....

We had a move inside of the jetty after high water to try to get out of the run....it was steaming out!! When it came to retrieving the anchor it eventually took both of us to heave on the rope to move the damn thing with the tide creating a bow in the rope!!

Too bigger tide for fishing really but we had a bit of a laugh and blew the cobwebs off ready for the smoothies in 5/6 weeks or so :thumb:

Just an hour either side of High it was just about do able, theres no way in the middle of full run you would have been able to fish..... maybe right inside of the jetty lol

Wish id taken a few pictures, where the tide was rushing past the perch on the pipeline was an awesome sight... And the rip off the end of the stone jetty, holy cow!!!
