Lepe Deeps Southampton waterway

Arrived at Lepe to a proper blow out so th sooner I could march around the corner out of the worst of it the better,2 baits fired out
and soon had a few whiting so that was another species sorted out....

Image

just before Low water something picked the bait up and headed off down tide,i lifted into it and was soon playing a good weight plus it was enjoyable seeing how the new Century T800 performed under stress....if I'm honest I was playing the fish a tad to careful but once I got it near the shore my neighbour came over and scooped it out the surf.....

Image

@ 6lb 8oz this was my first Thornback Ray of the season so well chuffed.....

Image

fished on but had to wait 2 hours before my only other bite from this stunning looking Thorny @ 4lb 6oz.....Gotta be probably the prettiest Thorny I've had, just luv them markings.

well that was it,so 2 Thornbacks and a few Whiting on a ruff night up Lepe.....well happy.

Had to mention the 2 lads who fished next to me one had his first ever Thorny so he was happy plus he also had a lovely spotted Ray the other fella went a bit better having 6 Thornies to 9lb....all fish coming to single squid baits.

left about 11pm and the walk back was a tad blowy but the session was worth the walk.

Nice fish mate, we have to wait a few more months before they show up north.
