Llanddwyn Island 7th April

Postby jsmith81639 » 09 Apr 2018, 16:38

Hi peeps,

ventured to Llanddwyn Island in Anglesey on Saturday with my boy to see if we could better our only other excursion to the island this year which resulted in a single doggie (saved our blank) :cheer: .

Upon arriving I thought if the fishing is as good as the views then we should be in for a cracking little session!

Fished 3 up and 2 down using squid, makerel and sandeels baits in various combinations however as the fishing gods had it, it was not to be and we blanked! :banghead:

After speaking with a few locals enroute back to the car (which was a trek and a half btw) it may have been a little to early in the year for this mark.

We are still learning and trying getting to grips with what conditions etc to look out for when planning our trips but as they say you gotta be in it to win it....any helpful tips or advice on this front would be appreciated!

Until the next time

PS for future reference can anyone tell me the best way to upload photos on here if not on photobucket.

I used to love fishing the island, a group of us used to go on a Friday night and come off on a Sunday. Wasn’t sure if fishing was still allowed but now I do I will be back on there very soon.

When we used to fish there (many years ago) we used to fish near the old lifeboat shed. As I was only young I fished to the left of the old slip (with your back to the shed) casting out into the entrance to the bay to your left. My dad and the rest fished the rocks at the side of the shed.

I've got fantastic memories of Llanwyn, and on its day it used to fish it’s socks off. I may see you there very soon now I know it’s allowed. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
