Milford Shingle Bank Weekender PB

Well after the previous nights 5 hours at Milford with only doggies to show for it,i wanted to give it another go by the white house.....
so slid down the steep bank with the tide knocking at my feet I was preying a big wave wouldn't wash me off as there is nowhere to retreat to...
The expected strong winds were blowing right in me face but I managed to put 2 double sandeel baits out about 70 yds
on a 2/3 3/0 upNover rigs....plenty of weed from the off but by 10pm it had died away.....

Then had a nice steady pull down and as bites were at a premium I left it to get the bait tween its teeth so to speak ....lifted into a good weight and it kited right toward the next groyn but managed to stear it toward me ....me heart pounding as I could feel it was a lump.
Took no chances and waded in for a spiky handful of fish but worth the pain when I laid my new PB Thornback Ray on the Beach......10lb 9oz

The fish waits for its return..........

you now slide down on your arrse as its easier to get down....but not so easy to climb back up.

no more Rays but just on low water this spiky Bass finished the session off...and with the flood bringing more heavy weed I called it a night.....

so my weekender of 10 hours @ Milford was well worth it for one beautiful NEW PB Thornie...well chuffed

well I had a quick fix down steamer tonight col....where you and I went before.....the omens were waiting for me mate......2 days of onshore wind had dumped piles of weed and I watched as a local fishing boat shot his nets 500yds out across me.........feck it......I fished anyway for the hell of it and had pout after pout after pout......great.....oh well I tried.

well that's it down here till about wed/Thursday next week col.....I wouldn't bother before.....

the beaches down here will be fullmof weed so if it were me coming down I would wait till mid week then head to chesil thusday Friday mate.....should be cod central by then mate,
