Milnrow SA Rhyl 13/05/2013
Early start for us to meet up with the rest of the crew from Milnrow SA, we were out with Tony today on Jensen, the plan was to try for Bass first then general fishing with a try for Bass again if we could.
We was told the that the bass where a bit thin on ground at the moment , but it turned out we hit a feeding frenzy frenzy with over 50 bass taken within a few drifts ( we only kept two each , rest returned)
It was frantic at first with bass hitting anything thrown at them, I had 8 on my lure .
Then that was it nothing, so we headed to the windmills to anchor up and catch a variety of species, doggies, dabs, bullhuss, thornback ray (biggest just ove 11lb) whiting, mackeral, pout, smoothhound.
I also caught a whelk.
A few mackeral had teeth marks on them and Tony said it looked they had been grabbed by tope, he said they should start seeing them soon.
We then went back inshore and tried a different mark which was a bit slow, so we moved again put the anchor down and steady flow of fish soon started along with a couple more bass taken on black lug
A great day out again with the lads, loads of banter etc , long journey home due to roadworks but we all made it safely back
