My "One for Steve"

Postby skatenchips » 21 Jan 2015, 12:10

To set the scene we were here at Steves Funeral he was a crazy guy with
a really dry humour and there was always a story to tell from his fishing exploits....these became "Steve Moments" ......on arrival the small village
church road system couldn't cope and it was bloody bedlom,Steve would have larfed at the chaos his day was causing.
The service was sad but his son spoke brilliantly how "dad" had got lost
on return from loos on numerous occasions when they were doing there food market selling of "Sweets",you see Steve was also the maker of the finest Peanut brittle I've ever consumed !!!!!!....anyway.....with service over
we all waited outside and I hear...."follow me boys I know where the grave yard is"...........we arrive in the small town of Lymington and walk through the town eventually find the grave yard......
......well.....we stood there......and stood there.....nobody came....
....the guy leading us had brought us to the wrong place.....we all looked to the heavens and thought how Steve would have been pisshhing himself
at our error.....a proper "Steve moment"

well after returning to the pub and drinking to him I decided on a session
for the fella.

On the way I stop for fish and chips to come out and find some git had
left my offside wing mirror in a heap hanging from the housing....Oh nice !!!....another Steve moment..!!!!!!! DOH

Set up at Evening Hill Poole Harbour.

Well after the funeral I decided on a quick trip to the harbour to catch something in honour of the Ol boy so
set up along the wall at the foot of evening hill, quite a few there but it was becalmed, not even a ripple and didn't look good,
but I was determined to have something to remember Steve by,no matter what.

Image

well there you go Steve, fill you boots with that monster,he,d have pisshed himself seeing that beauty.!!!!!

Image

then had a slightly bigger one.....

Image

well just after HW I had a little tickle on the tip and a small drop back,so left it 5 mins and lifted into it,
well bugger me a slightly bigger offering for the event.

That's it in afraid but I achieved my goal and was happy to pack up.....
.....then you know what decided to decend on Terry and Johnyboy at Holes bay.

Set up next to john and found hed been caning Terry all evening, had an almighty pul round and it just kept going,so lifting into it
I couldn't budge it....and at one point was pulling for a break, anyway it eased and started to move around,
I must say the Tronixpro rod had never felt anything like it and was struggling with the dead weight, closer to shore
John came over to net the fish......and shouts out...."oh look my rig id lost".....id somehow managed to snag his lost rig
and its double shot of fish......couldn't believe it...I was happy to have retreaved the hung up fish but they were not on my bloody
hooks.....another Steve moment.....DOH !!!!!!!!...typical.

Image

Anyway,I guess the closest I got to catching a huge double shot of nearly 6lb x 2 @ 2lb 12oz each....so the only thing to be done
was have Johnyboy pose with one and me with the other,a kinda joint effort for nada as nobody could claim em.

Image

Terry topped the evening with a huge fish that was deserved,LUCKY BASTERD !!!!.....ALL 3LB 7OZ OF IT !!!!!

so an eventful ending to my fishing for Steve that he would have had a bllody good larf at.

God Bless mate.
