North Wall....again....

North Wall....again....

Postby sharpey » 19 Jan 2017, 18:17

I've just had a call from Sandy from Windermere who wanted to discuss the ongoing litter problems on the Wall. I couldn't take his call for personal reasons, but I have replied back via message. I explained to him that I tried to contact the guy at Peel I generally contacted, but got no response. I can only assume he's moved jobs..??
I also mailed the Ports cops explaining the problem to them, also with no reply. I've not fished the Wall for some time now, and not sure if I will again with ongoing health problems, so I won't be trying to contact the local authorities again.
I'm sure there will be someone who is more local and fishes the venue regularly who can take a look at the problem and take things forward.
I know the local lads do collect the crap others leave, and try to educate the uneducatable ( is that even a word...???) so at least someone is trying...
If anyone wants to contact Sandy let me know and I'll pass his number.
Tight lines all.

Fair enough Steve, I don't blame you at all for steering clear of it, especially with your current health problens. It was good of you to get involved in the first place! The problem won't go away, it's probably inevitable that Peel will shut the wall off to anglers and the ones who caused the issue will moan the most! Poison chalice springs to mind.
Cheers for the heads up and take care

Make a difference - take home one piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing
