north wexford 26-5-11

myself and robbie both had a day off work and headed down south for a smoothy hunt,we picked a mark sheltered from the brisk wnw erly ,it was tshirts weather in our sheltered spot with jackets only going on for the showers, fishing was slow all day but to be honest we didn't really mind as it was so nice to be out (we both got a bit burnt ) most fish were out a good distance with a good 120 yard cast with mac producing a few dogs ,swimmer crabs were everywhere and flappers comming back with snipped snoods made me think a few spider crabs where also present robbie pulled in a hermit minus its shell the little begger obviously wasnt letting go of his bait no matter what! we packed up at 6.30 left half our gear in the car and hiked and rockhopped a mile up the beach and had a go at a little bay for the last few hours this produced more pup,s with a belting 18 incher comming on my last cast ,it would seem to still be a bit early for the bigger ones but hey we tried our best and i also had plenty of practice at my pendulum cast

flounder 5,dab1,doggies 4 and pup smoothies 15 was our tally at final whistle we fished from 1.30 pm till 9.30 went through 100 rag one mac and about 18 peeler got home at 11pm sunburnt knackered and starving :sleepy:
NICE!
