on your marks
me n gazza d made the long trip to s w scotland to fish the trip planned by lee on the on yer marks boats out of port logan.we made our way up thursday night and met up with paul and john in the bar of our camp site?hopes were high the following morning we were all a bit rough but the sea was calm and not a clowd in site.lee turned up with his party and were soon under way to our first mark for mackeral to use for bait.we had enough for bait but only had a four hour window as the weather was closeing in from a sw direction with 30 mph winds forecast.we headed out in to the bay in search of tope but after 2 hours only jumbo mackeral and dogfish showed on our other rods.we headed inshore to one of his pollock marks were we had good sport on light gear but with the weather closeing in fast it was short lived.our only option was to fish under the cliffs in a bit of shelter,we had 3 kinds of wrass more pollock doggies and dabs so a few fish but no big tope ![Crying or Very Sad ](http://anglingaddicts.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

Re: on your marks
I was gutted about the lack of tope.... bloody weather.
On the way up to bonny Scotland in the morning it looked perfect, i even commented that we should of brought sun cream, maybe I jyxned us ha-ha
It wasn't all bad though like Roy says, plenty of species caught, pollock, dabs, whiting, mackerel, dog fish, ballans, cookoo wrasse, codling and a bull huss of 9lb 6 which claimed the heaviest fish gone to kyle (picture soon)
Which by the way makes fishconverter.com about right! I took a quick measure of the Bull huss, on fishconverter.com if you pick lesser spotted doggy and put it 102cm it aint far wrong
I'd go back again, maybe the end of April next year when our summer occurs for all of two weeks.
All in all, i had a good day
Signed (King of the dogfish - double figures and the only codling 2.1lb)

Make a difference - take home one piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing

Re: on your marks
Not a bad run up, at 3 hours door to door (knocked an hou and 7 minutes off the AA route planner
)
Arrived at Clashwhannon caravan site, straight into the pub at around 8pm.... some good grub, shortly after Gaz and Roy turned up...... quite a few pints later and we left the pub onsite around 1230, staggered up to our caravan for our first look at it lol
Not bad for £55, would sleep 5 or 6 i reckon, TV, bath and shower room, full on kitchen with oven grill stoves, kettle, toaster.....bob on!!!
Up at about 7am, bacon butties on the go with a stinking headache!!!
Bit of a disaster fishing trip though. Fair play to Ian, he did try to get us on the fish but the weather just didn't allow us to be where we wanted, when we wanted.
We managed a few pollack each further inshore

![Image](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Morecambebay/6a0e2f6e.jpg)
A bucket full of mackerel, even these didn't really play ball, took us ages to get enough bait
![Image](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Morecambebay/e914cc79.jpg)
We all managed a few wrasse inshore with this being the best i think

This was the general feeling through the day.....
