Poole Harbour 25/01/2018
well after weeks of trying to winkle out a biggun at Holes Bay it seems all the netting has seen to that place as I was told 100kg bags were seen being unloaded at the quay side so bugger it went back for a quick session
along the roadside around the harbour,1st cast syndrome without a cast as I walked a 2 hook flapper loaded with Ragworm about 100 yds onto the wet sand as the tide trickled round me feet...never tried this before but have read others that do it....it was quite funny watching the other lads casting out in 3inches of water and I'm walking on it 100yds out in the darkness.....be wary though for visiting anglers as there is quick sand patches so might not be so funny finding a tripod with a line going out in the bay and a lonely hand poking out the water........
anyway I'm settled on me box when the rod starts rattling, and begger me I'm thinking one good fish but under me headlight I see this pair jigging about 1 @ 1lb on the nose and the other 1lb 6oz ,,a bit of surgery soon saw both flap there way back into the harbour......only had basslets following this plus one more 8oz flatty.
so quick visit down the harbour tonight following the rain was worth it.
