Poole Harbour Meet

South Coast Sea Fishing forum decided on a Meet in Poole Harbour, a Daylight assault is ok if you
are happy with Jo public tramping over your kit on the pathway and the 100,s of dogs trying their best
to snaffle your spare rigs ...



17 took part which was good but we only had this motley crew assemble for the group hug as a few were late arrivals...naturally I always put the pot out for those that wanna stick a £1 in each for the BEST FLOUNDER on the day.



as everybody else tramped off I was stowing my kit on my trolley as the Ol back is still a tad iffy
anyway got to my peg and decided on 2 x flappers with Ragworm,this small offering came 1st cast
although nice is always the kiss of death.

and so it turned out,the tide arrived and started to ebb and I couldn't buy a bite.



We are lucky to have the odd England Lad on the Forum this being John Brown who decided to
show me how to catch Flatties,he had 3 all at distance in the bay we were in.
You can see the pathway that we were sat adjacent too.



As the sun took a nose dive over the Purbeck hills we were left still battling to catch a decent
flatty from Baiter Park ..................



The last hours fishing was in darkness and all the lads caught a few,including me with this 38cm
fish but it was skinny as hell and only went 1lb 1oz

"All Out " was sounded at 6pm and we all met back in the car park.



It turned out George was the lucky one with this 2lb 2oz Flounder claiming 1st prize and a PB for him for the venue.



George gets his bit of cashola from yours truly "Well done George" !!!!!

Anyway,it was good to meet up with the lads,the banter was Tops and even better cos even though the fellers asked I had a day off from the cooking and watched motionless tips for most of the day .
