Pwllheli
Just a short report really. The day after getting back from Scotland Laura was working & then off to the races at Pontefract. I headed to Pwllheli to try bag a Black bream & maybe a few more species. I arrived at low water and intended fishing until I got tired or fed up whichever came first. I set myself up as per usual about 50 yards from Gimlet rock. The sea was flat and although there was a very strong off my back wind, once I was down on the beach I was very sheltered and the wind helped massively with casting, not that I need help normally but on low water I was hitting my lead and bait all around the buoy that’s there.
It was a slow day to say the least, I managed my target species of a black bream but everything else proved very elusive. I managed about 10 bream in all, nowt big enough for tea but at least I didn’t blank.

Here’s one of the few I managed.

I was a lovely day & evening until the feking googans turned up.I thought id not left enough room, but how blummin wrong was I?? Just look at em.

I lasted until about 0100hrs and then called it a day. It was a frustrating day, I tried all baits, all distances and any number of rigs. But all I could catch were bream. Not a sniff of owt else. Considering 2 years ago around the same time I had dragonetts, dabs, bream, dogs, ray and a bonus red mullet. Not even the mackerel came out to play (which in hind sight says it all lol)

Well that’s it again for a while Hopefully I’ll get out in September sometime but who knows.

Again as always thanks for reading

Oh Yeah I forgot. The day before I texted the LHG to put me £50 on a horse (Cosmic chatter) at Pontefract. It won so I was over the moon. That was until I got back to find out she thought I was joking (I even offered to transfer the money) so not a very good day at all lol
