Rockaway Surf SP 11ft Rod For Whipping in Hawaii & Oregon!

I Chose The Okuma Rockaway Surf SP Carbon Rod (#RSP-S-1102M+)!

So what does the model#'s mean?
R- Rockaway
S- Surf
P- Perch
S-Spinning
M+- Medium Plus

Currently there's 4 models. 2 at 8'6" & 1 at 10ft & another at 11ft.

Guides are SeaGuides series #316 SS deep press guide frames to help protect the zirconium inserts.

These rods have the beefiest HD hook keeper i've ever seen!

Reason for no foregrip? This lowers the "weight load" towards the lower butt section so no top heavy issues mean less arm fatigue.

The 8'6" models come in ML & Med.

The 10' & 11' rod power is M+.

All 4 models have MF (medium fast) rod tapers.

10/11ft models have 9+tip configurations.

Both 8'6" models are 7+tip configurations.

All 4 models are 2pc of 50/50 split sections & composed of 24/30 ton carbon blanks.

I choose the 11ft model. Why? For distance casting jigs & lures. The 10ft would also be ok. The 2 8'6" models are more for finessing & accuracy (used them during COVID when it first came out in 2021). But never completed my reviews of that model yet.

Okuma developed this line for the Sea Perchers from California to Oregon. In Hawaii it's a popular "whipping" rod (local term for spinning rod).
