silver spray 2 report.

Postby padster » 21 Sep 2014, 08:46

Well Saturday 20th finally came , thank god !! it had been a long week !
we set off on silver spray 2 at 8am, with Sam skippering the boat, we could not fill the boat with our own lads so we shared the day with 6 lads from essex who were great fun all day.
we set off for the mussel beds in search of plaice and turbot, the first couple of drifts down saw us getting into bream and the odd gunard , so we decided on a change to see if we could get amongst the turbot, again the first couple of drifts down produced a couple of good eating size turbot and a few more gunard.
We then went back to the mussel beads as the tide had slacked off so it was prime plaice time!!
well all i can say is plaice came on board thick and fast and some good sized ones too Bob one of the essex lads mentioned he's never seen plaice this big !! his normal size plaice fishing catches are "six inches and seethrough" lol his words not mine !!.
i won't devulge what i had , but i have been given a new nickname of "bream boy" !! but great fun on a light rod !
we finished off around four in the afternoon and headed back in.Full box of fish and happy faces.
many thanks to Sam the skipper who along with his dad Andy who skippers silver spray, they are always willing to help, give advice where needed and take the mick !!
it was a great day's fishing , with good company a lot of laughs. roll on 5th of october when we do it all again !! :D
Cheers,
Paddy
