Site problems?
Anyone else having problems with the site taking ages to load, or getting these "General Error" messages?
The details I see suggest the site has "more than the max user connections (1203)"
What? I know it's very popular, but 3pm on a Friday?

Re: Site problems?
The site has been having this problem for the past few year and I don't think Admin are bothered with it anymore. I've tried to post a few reports only for it to crash . I hope it does get sorted

Re: Site problems?
As Rob said It's been naff for a couple of years & the only contact Shacky knew who could fix things was Rushy who passed about the same time & nobody knows anyone to get in touch with to sort it out, It's a pity because It's a well set out site.

Re: Site problems?
Unfortunately this site has no person that can update and sort this problem out. It is now left to run it's own course.

Re: Site problems?
I'm not surprised.
Taken me fifteen minutes just to reply to this message.
Such a shame as I don't get out as much as I used to and seeing people's reports made up for my inability.
Brings back memories of catching tope pups and bearded rocklings and all sorts in the sixties on the Stone Jetty and chatting with Cecil McClard (apologies for spelling).
So many plaice caught off Central Pier, and walking out to the outfall pipe at the West End after digging blow lug on the sands and rag worm from the mussel beds - who remembers those?
Hope the site gets upgraded soon as it's great to see how the species caught have changed. I even caught a garfish near Conger Rock a few years ago.

Re: Site problems?
Hi all
The Wirral sea fishing site is having similar gremlins so maybe whoever is involved tech wise your end and the WSF Tech need to get there heads together. We have had someone have a look at if on our site but I don’t think they have got to the bottom of it.

Re: Site problems?
I've just had a trawl through what I can access and it seems the forum has not been updated for a few years. But the main problem which is causing the General Error is, the amount of people or bots which are on this site. I've just had a quick look and this is what there is....
WHO WAS HERE?
In total there were 2494 users online :: 9 registered, 0 hidden, 4 bots and 2481 guests (based on users active over the past 24 hours)
This server can't handle the amount of people using the website. Though I have a feeling, it has been hacked to overload the server.
I can't change anything, nor have the technical savvy to do so. Unfortunately we have to live with it
