Slow day at Abbotsbury.
Fished Abbotsbury Saturtday. It started out so well with a couple of mackerel and codling in the first half hour then nothing. I did not see much else be caught, the guy down from us spent 3 hours on feathers or one small mackerel.
It did not help that my mate brought all the wrong kit . Told him he needed his 13ft rod and some decent weights. When he set up it looked like he was about to go float fishing on Island lodge, Bury. I lost count how may times he crossed my line, forcing me to reel in.
At least I won the bet on most fished caught He buys the drinks and meal out on the nest session.

Re: Slow day at Abbotsbury.
I wouldn't bother again with Abb,s its too shallow fella, get youyr AArse along to Ferry bridge as suggested
its far deeper and youll have better success with Bream,Gurnards, mackeral, red mullet, and after dark
if your lucky enough the codling may show....I did suggest what to do to get the best from chesil.
5 and 6 oz grippers are mandatory mate, until the tide stops running then you can use plain leads
then you won't get dragged into snags so much.
Rag and blow lug during daylight then blacks tipped with blow after dark.....
this I what me mate caught from Ferrybridge over the weekend......
anyway,your call.
