This time of year you're looking for the deeper water. Such spots with easy access on the West are the South end of Belle Island and slightly further up the road at the first headland. Beyond that you need to get as far up as Strawberry Gardens caravan site and beyond before you reach deep water in casting range. Further north again with easy parking is Red Nab. Plenty of deep water around there. Had good fish at all those spots over the years (not telling you me secret spots though!). Best o luck.

I've put a lot of hours in on some of the places David mentions above.
The problem with the places where you can park close to the lake is that they get A LOT of angling pressure, there will undoubtedly be some real hot spots on there, I had a walk a couple of weeks ago on the bridleway that links Belle Grange to Strawberry Gardens, some very nice looking spots along there but a long walk from the car parks at either end.
To enjoy anything worthwhile, there must be some difficulty in obtaining it.

Grinch is absolutely right. A lot of people like to park up at Red Nab and basically fish out of the back of the car! I tend to treck south towards Belle Grange and beyond. Much quieter and more productive.
