The haddocks are definately in!!

As some of you are no doubt aware. There is a new kid on the block. Kieren Faisey - who has been Chippy's long serving crewman has taken the reins of a new charter boat in Penzance. Lo Kie adventures. Other than a few trial runs and practice sessions today was his first official charter. A half day that I know I will be talking about for a while - along with a few others. We had a half day on the haddocks and absolutely smashed it. The boat had probably 50 prime haddock between 8 anglers for half a day fishing. Best fish on the boat went probably to 4lb. The fishing was so hectic that I didn't think to weigh my best fish until I was gutting them 2 hours later, when it went just over 3 1/2lb. Best bait on the day was squid fished on a 4' trace to a 2/0-3/0 running ledger. I managed 7 haddocks, a few whiting and a rogue doggy thrown in for good measure. The man to my right Steve Dawe had a good 10+ haddocks all of the fish landed were of a good stamp with some real crackers. I said it earlier in the week. The conditions for getting out on the water are perfect. I can't wait to see what the weekends has in store for us.
