The Island 27th Sept

Postby abbo » 28 Sep 2011, 17:00

[Yesterday i was stuck in a stuffy office enduring a safety course the lecturer asked if i minded cutting it to half a day. Spent the morning looking out the window like when you were a kid at school. It was an instant decision to get out. Lets gets some fresh air and make the most of the weather :sun: . Looked at the tides and weather conditions, thought I might know somewhere with a surf. I arrived about 16:00 hrs loaded with three packs of massive wild rag, a pack of lug and 12 peelers (thanks Joe from Jokers Colwyn Bay spot on la :thumb: . This beach is pretty much unused, tried it once before in April and blanked but, new it could produce with a bigger tide it is a shallow beach without any gullies.
Image
Tried varying distances to find the feeding rounds and wasnt bothered that I caught a number of doggies
Image
I was more hopeful than confident of catching a Bass in the bright :sun: but, after 40 minutes I was in 1.8lb caught on rag worm
Image
If the dreaded weed stayed away I was going to stay through from low to high tide
Two hours after a low had another three about the same weight and giving good sport.
Image
It continued like this more or less throughout the session a Bass or a dog
Image
Two hours before high tide lost a good bass about 15 feet away think this was down to me, i didn't turn my headlight off the bilghter jerked off swam past my feet and away (excuse the expression oh err)
The water was crystal clear and only bits of weed to disturb the fishing I occasionally waded into the surf and pulled the weed off the sinking lines. The night sky was clear the air warm, stars out with several shooting across the blackened sky --- great night to be fishing. Incidentally told the lads at work about the night fishing (they just don't get it  If you get good nights and your in the zone there's nowt better :yahoo:
Image
had my last fish 2 hours after Hight Tide the last two hours being the most hectic
Image
New it was a good session just by looking at all the cuts on my hands. The missus put magarine on them this morning can't believe there not better
:offtopic Please note! this not a secret venue. I have not mentioned where it is. I'm conscious of the fact that other members don't approve for obvious reasons and respect this, although I don't think it really matters - in other words I have had a bollocking :nono:
Cheers all,[/color]Abbo :1:

Great session Paul and well done on putting in the hard work to suss a mark out, no way should you hand it on a plate to others....let them work it out for themselves :thumb:
