the mersey 5-10
hi all its a while since I've been on the forum I spend a lot of time in spain but when I'm home seem to get strong winds which keep the boat in the marina anyway
fished the Mersey on sunday 4 on board locked out at the unearthly time of 9-30 the forecast was good up to around 6 ish we could not lock back in till 7-30 ish the second part of the tide was 9 meters which is a bit big for the Mersey but with the forecast and the big tide in the afternoon we decided to fish for cod in the morning then at low water make a run for the rock channel where we would have a go at the flatties , funny thing is it all went to plan, fished the river for cod we had 9 in all 3 keepers nothing big but its early for cod, at low we moved dropped the hook at a mark in the rock and started to get good flatties and doggies lots of them, the wind started to blow right on the time the forecast said we had a lively trip to the marina to find about 12 rag heads trying to lock in with us a few of them pig ignorant and no idea how to share a lock but it was a good day
