the mersey today 11.1
Locked out this morning at 8 oclock ish we had 3 on board, we heard some of the boats had a few cod in the week one pushing 14.5 pounds coupled with a decent forecast hopes where high, the first couple of hours we got a hammering with hail storms the deck was covered in ice till about 11 ish when the skies cleared the wind died and we finnished up with sunshine, we had loads of whiting some over 2 pounds ,flatties, and small codling, in the lock on the way in we where talking to some of the skippers a couple had cod but not a lot, there is a lot of sprat in the river and far more whiting than normal for this time of year on top of that a lot of rain water is pushing through which always puts the fish down, plenty of fish so we should not complain but no big cod
