Re: Walney channel Sunday
No its quite a big anchor about 2 feet across and 10kg, I always thought it was too big for a 15 foot boat.
from now on I will be taking both out so I can switch to whatever one works.

Strange then....
won't hurt to carry a spare set up anyway mate.
Just trying to go through and price up all the gear i need, got rid of most of my kit when i got rid of the old boat so going to have to buy most of it all again. All part of the fun though, a bit of retail therapy never hurt![Wink ;)](http://anglingaddicts.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

I have a 15 foot sea Jeep, Wendy bought it off Sea Hog who took it in PX for £3,000 on the trailer, I bought the engine 60hp Suzuki 4 stroke for £6,500, electrics fish finder /Plotter and VHF another £1000 before you even get to Life jackets @ £55 each x 3, Anchors and ropes, Flares, rod rests, Aux engine etc etc etc the list is endless, as is the bill.
I don't envy you starting again from scratch, But once it has been bought you don't need to buy it again for a long time, and the fun you get out of a day messing around in boats is great. When I sold my last decent boat I swore I would never buy another one but I missed it so much I had to get another.
What boat are you getting ? what engine ? mine is like a low flying missile when you open it up, and its brilliant on fuel.
I bought a 15 foot boat because it fits in my garage, big enough for 2 to fish comfortably (3 at a push but its a bit squashed) and easier to tow and launch, Its big enough for what I want and I don't need to remove all the gear off it when I get home as its under lock and key.

Yeah ditto, said id never do it again after the last one, but as yourself, I miss it... After a lot of deliberation, decided i wanted another, but only if it were at least nearly new... (or the engine was, with a decent trailer)
Ended up ordering a new Warrior 165 on Friday, 70 Suzuki... got an offer i couldn't refuse on a boat they are currently building to use at the Southhampton Boat show in September.... Should get it by end of September

Great stuff, I used to stand fishing the beach knowing that a mile out I would clean up, And when we were in wales if I could just get over the banks I could fill a box with Bass,In the end I said SOD IT and took the plunge AGAIN lol, You will be over the moon with the engine, when its ticking over you can't hear it, and I can go out and travel around all day on a tank of fuel, Lee took it from Knot end slipway around to Lytham on 2 gallons of petrol ! it averages over 10 miles to the gallon. I would have gone for the warrior but it would mean leaving it in the back garden as it would not fit in my garage. The only thing I regret is not getting a rollercoaster trailer for it, but again it would not fit in the garage and the thought of leaving it in the open with a £6500 engine on it would stop me sleeping at night.

Re: Walney channel Sunday
Rushy has a 50 Suzuki on his garden ornament which i was always impressed with....
Looking forward to it as you can imagine
The kayak is obviously a compromise between shore and boat, and does put you in amongst the fish but there are definite negatives too...
Really not got the buzz for shore fishing anymore, don't get me wrong ill still go now and then when the feeling takes me, but it just feels like a lot of hard work for little return most of the time, spoilt with the Kayak and boats in the past perhaps...
Been looking at quite a few different options security wise.... But i guess thats what insurance is for to some extent. Forget the garage, I can't always get in there, nevermind a boat

Re: Walney channel Sunday
I know what you mean, I am lucky to have a double garage in my back garden, the boat only fits corner to corner and leaves just enough room to close the door, another 6 inches and it would not fit.

Re: Walney channel Sunday
I was down at Warrior Boats today picking my boat up after its first service (20 hrs ) its took me 2 years to put 20 hrs running on the clock, I saw them making your boat, its still not finished but looking good so far, I was making enquiries over a rollercoaster trailer but apparently they are 3 feet longer than the one the boats on now so that's the end of that, bummer.
When you get your boat, when the oil light comes on its due its service it doesn't mean the oil pump has packed in like I thought, I was flushing the motor out and noticed the oil light flashing, I turned it off immediately thinking something was wrong and not wanting to wreck the engine, when he told me it was only in need of a service I was relieved to say the least, dread to think how much replacing the oil pump would cost if the service was £175, it basically consists of an oil change and fuel filter. next service is after 100 hrs and then 300 hrs and apparently that's the expensive one !!!.
At the rate I use use the boat it will take me 8 years to get to the next service and then 20 years to get to the expensive one lol
